Femininty is both agresive and sensual, as seems to say the Givenchy designer Ricardo Tisci. And it’s the duality which is glorified in his fall-winter collection of the french fashion house.

The dominating color is, of course black, which gains and looses its depth – from the dark and consuming velvet to the light and sensual sheers. This color carries two extremely different, but often co-existing messages – the dramatic and the erotic. Along with the black come the prints – flowers combined with wild cats exposing their dangerous fangs.

The cuts are sensually sexy, but not in an obvious and agressive way – extremely tight, laminated skirts go with sporty bomber-like jackets and almost puritane buttoned-up longsleeve shirts. Satin elegant jackets expose the masculine nature of womenhood, while the gold embellishment – the female necesity of beauty. Leather is both patent and mat and reffers to one of the most important trend of the up-coming season – the gloomy but playful fetish. The hats with tiny horns and cat-eye frames break the seriuosness of the dusky vision, while the baroque prints crash against the rough and mysterious black.

The collection itself gains some kind of obsessive caracter, which we could compare to the fatal attractions one meets once in a while – passion and lust which is both consuming and destructive, dark and irresistible. It’s hard to tell wether Tisci glorifies the portait of the contemporary woman or pictures his fears to defeat them. Without doubt sit’s an amazing and admirable study with interesting results. The most important effect is, as we think, prooving the public that fashion still can intrigue and introduce this bit of disturbia without starting a scandal.
