British Harper’s Bazaar in its May edition (nº 05/2011), on pages 136-145 published a geometry inspired fashion editorial titled Bold New Vision. Magazine’s stylist Vanessa Coyle collaborated with photographer Mark Pillai. The pictures show Merethe, Marylin New York agency model wearing such brands as: Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Burberry, Jil Sander. Miu Miu, Moschino, Chanel, Prada, Fendi, Gareth Puch, Christopher Kane.
The session done in a photographic studio has both – photos in colour, and in black and white. Various prints – geometric stripes and checks, modern animal and floral motifs – are far more important than the colours of presented clothes. Each stylisation combines different fabric textures. Sleek patent leather is matched with a raw opaque material, soft jacquard goes together with sheer delicate silk.
From this dynamic fashion show we can learn one valuable lesson. Let’s play with voluminous silhouettes, mixing delicate dresses with heavy biker boots.
