ISSEY MIYAKE AW 2015 COLLECTION – A KALEIDOSCOPE OF GEOMETRIC PATTERNS AND AN INFINITE COLOUR

What first appears in Yoshiyuki Miyamae’s designs as a deliberate shapelessness, unveils as calculated layering – loose, enveloping tops married to full at the hips skirts which create the illusion of form. We also come by geometric skirts, tops and scarves which are followed by wide billowing trousers that lengthen the figures. Structured shawls were tied around shoulders in a manner that added extra volume to the top halves.

The Issey Miyake AW 15 Collection, that was presented during Paris Fashion Week, stands out with the selection of 3D effect coats, skirts and tops in darkened colours of teal, acid yellow and a jarring purple. Chevron prints appear on the hems of sleeves and skirts whereas the penultimate looks are covered with 3D geometric prints.
