After two years of working for the Emilio Pucci fashion house, Peter Dundas has created a certain, recognisible style, which we call hippie deluxe - very chic, very sexy, and boho-inspired. This was actually appropriate - Pucci has a strong jetset tradition. The public attending Pucci's fall/winter 2011 fashion show was expecting a collection ctreated in that kind of spirit. The talented designerm though, decided to surprise us all...

The fundamental change is a different focus - instead of showing the legs, as it was usually done at Pucci, Dundas, inspired buy the royal court's of Austria, exposed the bust and the shoulder line. Another change we can notice in the silhouette - instead of floating, loose, hippie and oversize cuts, this season Pucci switches to ultra-feminine, hourglass shape, thanks to using a corset. The collection is obviusly inspired by the rich baroque art (the gold embellishment), as well as the Austrian royal court's style, alond with the decadent Belle Epoque (the velvet and the lace), which combined the dark side of the aesthetics from different periods of time. The designer himself admits, that he was willing to streate a women, moving to her winter palace, living among mountains and snow, entertaining herself by hunting and relaxing in front of an impressive fireplace. As if we hadn't had enough changes - Dundas also intruduced mens' sillhouettes - a capsule collection and preview of menswear Pucci line.

The collection is dominated by cold colors - black, mint, green and fuchsia. Even the silver embellishments remind us of the icy ormanents which is produced on glass during the winter, as the old gold recalls the glory of the past. It may sound absurd, but this new style, perhaps because of the transformation we have in mind, is full of young energy, although it clearly seeks inspiration in the past. Without no doubt, it is a very important collection - both for the house of Emilio Pucci, as for Dundas himself.
